Dear Commissioner Manfred --

I was shocked and disappointed to learn that you decided to move the All-Star game from Atlanta to protest Georgia's new voter law.

You say MLB "opposes restrictions to the ballot box." Good for you. So do I.

But why don't you specify what this bill does to restrict the ballot box? You don't because you can't.

Like it or not, the Georgia bill is a reasonable effort to strike a balance between ballot access and ballot integrity. In the process, it actually codifies many expansions of voter access. Those focused on the law's requirement of voter ID for absentee ballots completely ignore the fact that Georgia already requires a photo ID to vote in person.

In fact, 35 other states require some form of ID to vote in person.

So why Georgia? Why now?

We both know why. Because the woke mob demanded that you boycott Georgia.

By caving in to their demands you've made MLB the agent of a political agenda, and an extreme one at that. You've turned support for MLB into a political statement.

This is a statement I refuse to make.

I hereby pledge to boycott MLB until you return the All-Star game to Atlanta.

For decades baseball has united us by staying above politics. You've now shattered that unity. You must repair what you've broken.
